The Inception Workshop on Enhancing Climate Change Adaptation was held on 5-6 February 2015 in Bangi, Malaysia. The workshop was attended by about 30 participants. Participants comprised representatives of the National Focal Points of the ASEAN Working Group on Climate Change (AWGCC) and Partner Institutions identified by the AWGCC National Focal Points as well as representatives of India’s counterpart to the AWGCC and the ASEAN Secretariat.
The Inception Workshop comprised a capacity building session, a scene setting session and a focused discussion session to develop the terms of reference for the country scoping study. The capacity building session on Climate Impacts and Future Risks in Southeast Asia was organised in partnership with the Asia Pacific Network for Global Change (APN) and Asian Network on Climate Science and Technology (ANCST), drawing on experts from ASEAN and India. Local partners included the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
